Stop Your Stinking Thinking – June 23, 2022

Dear Reader,

I’ve always said, “You get your mind in order, you get your whole life in order.†If one is not careful you can fall into a deep trap and snare your own life through your stinking thinking. Philippians 4:8; “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—Think on these things.â€

II Corinthians 10:4-6; “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.â€

God’s Word is so powerful, and God’s promises are true! When we allow the influence of this world to shape our thoughts and actions, we get ourselves into big trouble. This world is under a force of darkness that many people are blinded to, they don’t understand spiritual things. Until we’re born again by the Spirit of God, only then are our eyes open to the things that are around us. Sin longer has a hold on us, we’ve been set free through repentance, and accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior. 

When that born again experience happens, something powerful begins to take place, God’s Spirit, and His Word come alive in our hearts and the Holy Spirit starts to renew our minds. The scripture that really touched my heart as a new Christian was. Romans 12:2; “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.†As I read that one verse alone it showed me, if God has a perfect will, Satan has an imperfect will, if God has an acceptable will, Satan has an unacceptable will, If God has a good way, Satan has a bad way.

Before I became a believer in Jesus Christ, I had no idea Satan was the ruler and master of my life and actions. Whatever I wanted to do, I did it! However, I wanted to speak it didn’t matter if it was filled with curse words, I said whatever I wanted.  Anger, feeling sorry for myself, unforgiveness it was a pattern of my life. Until God’s Spirit and Word entered my heart and mind. There was a transformation! Amazing!

Today, many don’t know they are led by another spirit, and it’s not the Spirit of God! Until one is born again by the Spirit of Jesus, they are under the sway of the wicked one. That’s why we read in God’s Word,  1 John 5:19; “We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.â€Â  So how does someone come out [LS1] from under the influence of Satan? Come to Jesus, repent of your sin, accept what Jesus did on the cross, He rose again on the third day, and accept forgiveness for your sins. Then open His Word, the Bible, and start to read in the book of Luke. Then Sunday come to church and start your new life in JESUS, for your faith will start to grow by hearing the powerful Word of God.  I promise, coming to Jesus and salvation is the BEST thing you’ll ever do. Don’t throw another year away, lost, hurting and under the sway of the wicked one. I love you
