God’s Power – Jan 20th

Dear Reader,

Are you having trouble in your walk with God? One day, you’re doing great and the next day you’re battling your flesh? I have GREAT news for you! You don’t need to fight day after day in your flesh. Jesus said He would send us His Power to make it through our Christian walk every day, even in a dark, sin filled, and ungodly world. Acts 1:8; “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.â€

Jesus knew we needed His extra strength and power to walk in His authority and have His dominion. The cross was not the end!  John the Baptist told us, “Jesus would baptize us with the Holy Spirit and fire.†We need Jesus’ power more than ever in these last days. So many preachers and believers have refused the Holy Spirit’s power. It’s like having a brand-new sports car sitting in your driveway, the keys in your pocket, but no gas! Many Christians are selling themselves short. They’ve have been told by someone with no faith nor understanding the Holy Spirit speaking in tongues is not for today. That’s a BIG lie! God’s Word is so clear! Don’t misinterpret God’s Word to fit your heart’s unbelief. A few scriptures have been taken out of context; Paul the Apostle said the manifestation of the Spirit is GIVEN TO ALL. That means everyone who has repented and received Jesus as their Lord and Savior are to be baptized not only in water but also in the Holy Spirit. Because the gifts of the Holy Spirit are released through the manifestation of the Spirit.

What made the difference in the early church, NO one told them speaking in tongues was wrong! They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues.   I love reading in the Book of Acts Chapter nine, when God told Ananias to go to Saul, pray and lay hands on him to receive the Holy Spirit for God’s calling to be complete in his life. You see, Paul’s calling demanded God’s power!

Today we need God’s power! The early church was on FIRE, they preached everywhere they went, reaching the whole known world with the gospel. They didn’t have TV, social media, radio, they were filled with the Holy Spirit, and had God’s power within them. They were witnessing everywhere they went.    Why do we have so many lukewarm Christians? Because they need to be filled with God’s Holy Spirit power!  If Jesus needed the Holy Spirit how much more do we need Him?  The Holy Spirit is our Helper, Comforter, Teacher, and Power. He helps in our weakness, Jude V:20; “But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,†Praying in the Spirit is part of God’s armor for battle, and many Christians have been told they don’t need to speak in tongues.  Jesus told His church don’t even start your ministry until you’re filled with His Power in Luke 24:49. There are many who attend churches that even speak against the Holy Spirit! VERY DANGEROUS!  Matthew 12:32; “Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.† I would be very careful what I say about the Holy Spirit.

God’s Word is so powerful and clear to us who believe. God doesn’t say one thing and mean another. We need His Power today more than ever! Don’t be a Christian without your whole armor on! Ephesians 6:18;†Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit.† We need the Holy Spirit’s POWER TODAY.
