A God of Excellence – June 23, 2022

Dear Reader,

Did you get a chance to see the moon the other night? What an amazing God we serve! Psalm 1:8; “O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth, who have set Your glory above the heavens!†Every time I look up at the heavens, I see the glory of the Lord. Everywhere we look, from the large Oak tree, the beautiful rose that buds with the morning sunshine. Or the hummingbird that flutters it wings, staying in one place in midair. The other day while walking at the Prayer Mountain, my eye caught a beautiful yellow bird, it was a Baltimore Oriole.

All someone must do is look around! God’s glory is everywhere. When I hear someone say, I don’t believe in God! I think, just look around, He’s everywhere trying to show you, His blessings. Romans 1:19-20; “Because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.â€

Many people have hard hearts and confused minds because of sin! Sin blinds many from God’s truth and the beauty of His Majesty. I’ve had many tell me, “I don’t believe in God because I can’t see him!†I smile and say, “You can’t see your brain, but you know you have one!†God tells us we walk by faith! Faith is amazing. Have you ever watched the Indiana Jones movie, when he was told to step out and walk? It looked like it was the edge of a cliff, but there was a bridge unnoticed by his natural eyes. Faith in God, is like that, stepping out when you can’t see a thing. Then suddenly, God in His grace and love comes and wraps His loving arms around you. He opens the eyes of your understanding, and suddenly you know you’re in His presence.

When I was a new believer, only saved less than 6 months, my son had a terrible bike accident. The blow to his head was so hard, his eyes were rolling to the back of his head. He was bleeding from inside his skull, his one eye was so swollen I couldn’t see it within a minute of his fall. His father died from a terrible blow to his head, and now I was looking at my son. I remember picking my son up in my arms and standing in the middle of the street crying out to God, “No LORD, please not my son!†The ambulance came, as we entered the hospital, they took my son to get x-rays and tests.  I ran to the little waiting room, fell to my knees, and prayed with all my heart.  For the first-time I heard God’s voice speak to my heart these words, “Don’t fear, I didn’t come to take his life, I came to give him life.†Right at that moment, I knew my son was going to be ok. Yes, he had a tough road, but today he’s completely healed, filled with God’s joy, and married, with 4 beautiful kids.  

God’s power is working everywhere. His love is SO amazing, and He’s given us a grace we didn’t deserve. Just look around, stop and see the beauty that’s all around us. The next time you look up see the skies painted in orange, purples and yellows, just smile and say, “What a mighty God we serve, He’s the greatest artist ever.†  He set the stars in place, hung the moon up on nothing and then He told the sun when to shine.†Do you really think your problem is too hard for Jesus? No, it’s not!

Our Jesus can do all things! Ephesian 3:20; “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.†Do you have God’s power working in you? Let’s start off our day right, ask Jesus to come into your heart, and ask Him to forgive your sins. Now, come on up to church!
