Many people have once walked with the Lord, and have walked away, letting the influence of this world sweep them into a river of sin. How many do you know who say, “I’m a Christian,” yet their actions say something else, not serving the Lord wholeheartedly. That creates a problem, I want to warn you, this is no time to play or shrink back. We are closer to the coming of the Lord than most understand. The return of Jesus is soon at hand, let’s remember this very important verse:
Matthew 25:1-13 "Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept. “And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’ Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut. “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’ “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming."
II Corinthians 11:2 "For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy. For I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ."
Matthew 9:15 And Jesus said to them, “Can the friends of the bridegroom mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast.
Ephesians 5:25-32 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church. For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones. “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church. ·
One day, we shall hear the trumpet call, and like the ten virgins, those who are filled with the Holy Spirit and ready for His coming will arise to meet the Lord. Do not look at those around you dear saints, and be discouraged because "so-called Christians" do not want to attend church, or they are so busy. They confess with their mouths, "I’m a Christian," and all the external looks like they are, but the Lord does not look as a man looks, keep in the mind, The Ten Virgins!
Revelation 19:7 "Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.”
Jesus spoke so that the people could understand Him! (The Kingdom of Heaven shall be liken unto Ten Virgins!)
Five wise: refer only to their conduct in regard to the oil, wise in taking the oil…!
Five foolish: those who neglected the urgency of the oil. (Holy Spirit)
Five Wise: Prepare for the coming of the Lord!
Five Foolish: neglect, preparation for the Lord’s coming!
Five Wise: a true devotion to the Lord, and His Word
Five Foolish: no oil, they profess they love Jesus, yet they are destitute of true grace, and are therefore unprepared to meet Jesus at His coming!
Those who were ready for the coming of the Lord…!
II Peter 3:10 "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up."
I Timothy 4:1-2 "Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, 2 speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron,"
Colossians 2:8 "Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ."
Matthew 25:12 “But he answered and said, Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you”!
Matthew 7:23 "And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!"
II Timothy 2:19 "Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”
